Burton Memorial Hall is funded by the rentals paid by users, and by events and activities based in, and on behalf of the Hall. Every year the Hall hosts a variety of events which raise money to help keep the Hall going and pay for repairs and improvements.
On the first Monday of each month (unless a Bank Holiday) there is a Library Coffee Morning, between 10am - 11am, to co-incide with the opening times of the Burton Book Drop. Each month there is a new cake to try and the chance to buy the recipe, plus a book stall.
Regular annual events include Christmas Bingo, Strawberry Saturday, and CraftMarket. We have also held fashion shows, music concerts, table top sales, and food events, and are always looking for new ideas and ways to raise funds. If you have an idea or want to volunteer to help us fund-raise, please do contact us.
One of the latest ways we've set up is donations via the Vodafone JustTextGiving service, where donations of up to £10 may be made via text message from your mobile phone. You can donate by texting our code BMHC12 followed by the amount you wish to donate, to 70070. You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10. As an example, to donate £5, you would text the following to 70070: BMHC12 £5. All the money you donate goes to the Hall; your network provider does not charge you for the SMS you send to make the donation.
